Cashless Payment at Wacken Open Air 2022
Dear Metalheads,
This year we will introduce a big innovation at the W:O:A - Cashless Payment - for the whole festival!
Various test runs over the past few years have given us enough experience to implement the system in cooperation our partners GET who already have extensive know-how in this field. Cashless Payment will be used throughout the entire festival site at all merch, food and beverage stands. From now on you will pay with your festival wristband which has an RFID Chip attached to it.
This means there will be no more paying with cash! No more trips to the ATM, less chance of losing your cash at the festival and there’ll be shorter waiting times at the bar!
You can conveniently load enough money onto your chip in advance by registering in the online portal:
1. Head to cashless.wacken.com and register your account.
2. Select the ticket linked to your WackenID and add funds to your wristband.
3. When you arrive at W:O:A, your festival wristband will already be loaded and ready to use after you've received it at the wristband exchange.
4. If you run out of balance, you can easily add more funds mobile or at one of the many top up stations.

You can already now visit the Cashless Payment portal, creat an account and add funds. You just need your ticketnummber / Wacken.ID from the ticket center.
Important! If you have not yet assigned tickets that you bought for friends to every single one of these persons, please do so now in the Ticket Center. Otherwise they cannot top up their balance or pay at the festival!
