The new acts:
Till Lindemann
We are very happy that Till Lindemann, probably one of the most influential German artists of today, will celebrate his Wacken debut. The fact that he is performing this gig in addition to the Rammstein tour shows how important this facet of his work is to him. We are looking forward to a spectacular performance that will surely be talked about for a long time.
Grave Digger (40th Anniversary Show)
They were one of the first German heavy metal bands, now they are a legend: Congratulations to Grave Digger’s 40th anniversary! And what better way to celebrate than with a special show on the Holy Ground? The Clans of Wacken will be marching!
Danko Jones
When Danko Jones play, the party is on. With their new - and programmatically titled - album "Power Trio" under their belt, this hard rock gang will have you sweating in 2022, rest assured!
Orden Ogan
Their powerful melodic metal has long since made it into the charts, so after 2010 and 2016, Orden Ogan were once again due for a visit to the Holy Ground. We are looking forward to a rousing show!
Tarja
We welcome Tarja, an absolute Wacken veteran, to the line-up. Whether with her old band Nightwish or as a solo artist - the Finn always knows how to captivate her audience.
We are also happy to confirm the following international metal legends: US metallers Cirith Ungol will celebrate their Wacken debut with a very special "50th Anniversary Show", authentic NWOBHM flair comes from Angel Witch. Vomitory will serve you finest Swedish Death Metal and it will get really occult with the Italians Death SS.
As usual, W:O:A stands for more than "just" heavy metal. That’s why we are happy to welcome New Model Army for the second time after 2015, while Misfits guitarist Doyle will be joining us for the first time. Lucifer with singer Johanna Sadonis and Hellacopters frontman Nicke Andersson on drums will celebrate 70s heavy rock with you.
Two hidden gems complete today's announcement: Nytt Land with atmospheric sounds from Siberia and the Indonesian metallers from Voice of Baceprot.
