Our X-Mas Calendar is close to an end - but today we can again announce four new names for W:O:A 2018! And our big raffle at xmas.wacken.com is still running too - so take your chance to win some great prizes!
The Scottish hard rock pioneers from Nazareth areactive since 1968 and will be at Wacken for the first time in 2018! The band belongs to the first wave or phase of Hard Rock history. Together with bands like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin or Uriah Heep, they developed and shaped the genre, which was the precursor to today's Heavy Metal. At the same time, Nazareth is anything but a nostalgic act: The musicians continue to bring out new albums, which bring notable success!
US Thrashers of Toxic Holocaust will visit Wacken for the first time too! The Thrash Metal institution from Oregon has been active since 1999, blending Thrash with Speed and Black Metal elements. The mixture says it all, their music is an extreme hit in the face and we look forward to their debut show at W:O:A!
Heavy, dirty rock somewhere between Hard Rock and Punk Rock - the Backyard Babies from Sweden do not make any prisoners! The band was founded in 1987 as Tyrant, since 89 they are called Backyard Babies. Get ready for their first W:O:A show!
Bloodsucking Zombies From Outer Space
Horrorpunk and Psychobilly made in Vienna - the bloodsuckers were founded in 2002. The band is dedicated to classic horror B-movie themes and they really love this special playground. The musicians are still in their original line-up and release a new album almost every year.
