W:O:A 2022 - new bands!
Metalheads,
Why should we hide it? We are totally excited for 2022! All we need is 75,000 maniacs (i.e. you) and, of course, lots of music. That's why we are very happy to present you new artists today for the upcoming Wacken Open Air from 4 - 6 August 2022. As always, we will do everything in our power to secure as many of the names already announced for 2020 as possible for the upcoming W:O:A. And now please fasten your seatbelts:
Mercyful Fate
For more than two decades, the loudest village in the world has been eagerly awaiting the return of these Heavy Metal legends, especially since they were already announced for 2020. Now the time has finally come! Mercyful Fate live at W:O:A! Get ready for a setlist full of metal classics like "Evil" or "Curse Of The Pharaos" and a great show. Will this be "A Dangerous Meeting"? For those neck muscles definitely.
Hämatom
Shame, shame, shame! Yes, due to our own stupidity we let the cat out of the bag (or rather the last poster) a while ago: The four German freaks will also do the honours again in Wacken in 2022. After they were able to live out their acoustic fantasy with "Berlin", the new album "Die Liebe ist tot" (including new masks) sees them rocking it all out again. We expect an extra heavy set as punishment for our wrongdoings.
Kissin' Dynamite
Things have come a long way since the Swabian rockers last visited us in 2017. With "Ecstasy" they cracked the German Top Ten and with the upcoming album "Living in the Fast Lane", Kissin' Dynamite are now setting out to overtake the international hard rock leaders. It's going to be massive!
Nothgard
With Nothgard, one of the strongest bands of the local melody death scene celebrates their Wacken debut! Smasahers like the last single "Lightcrawler" simply belong on stage, so that the pit can go crazy. Just don't say later that we didn't warn you.
Moonspell
Having started out as a black metal band, the Portuguese have long since established their very own style with 13 albums to their name. Songs from the new album "Heritage" are in no way inferior to classics like "Alma Mater", because they are above all one thing: typical Moonspell!
Wind Rose
With "Diggy Diggy Hole", Wind Rose have provided one of the coolest metal cover version of recent years, which automatically turns every party into a freewheeling mosh pit. At their very first W:O:A show, however, the Italian metallers will prove that they can do much more than play cover versions and dig holes.
Einherjer
Aficionados of Nordic metal can look forward to a feast, because we can finally welcome Einherjer back to Wacken. With the current album "North Star" in their luggage, an epic, musical Viking battle awaits us!
